My book arrived this morning, and I am very pleased. First off, this is a BIG book.For reference, I consider myself and experienced, intermediate level wire worker.Like most wire work books, this starts off with a sections addressing the tools used, and instructions on basic techniques. Jump rings, coils, coiled coils, spirals, wrapped loops and more.The meat of the book is the 15 designs. And trust me, it is meaty in a good way. Each of the 15 designs is broken down into small steps with photographs to show each step. The moth shown on the cover is illustrated in 77 written steps and a photo for each step. No worries about crowding on the page, the pictures are clear and the picture and instructions are large enough, and have enough space between each step. So if you follow pictures, or follow written instructions, or some of both, this book seems to cover the bases.Most of the designs are of an animals (owl, fish, dolphin, lion, gecko, elephant, moth, cat, horse, butterfly, seahorse) but there is also a daisy, leaves, and two styles of angles. Each incorporates wire and bead elements. In some it is a cabochon, in others stone beads, or pearls. There are a variety of techniques and materials used, so that each piece is unique. Some earthy (the owl), some ethereal (angels)...and a range in between.I think as a collective this book offers very specific directions to make each one, but it also offers the ability to learn the process to create your own designs, along with inspirations and ideas that can be adapted in other projects. For example, there is a wire woven cabochon with a butterfly and a lovely unique bail. I would use the instructions for the cab enclosure and bail, omit the butterfly in the middle, because I have a request from a friend for a dragonfly, which I would design myself (dragonfly not in the book), which would pair nicely with the cab and bail for the butterfly. And then make another, with no butterfly or dragonfly, just to show off a beautiful stone cabochon.At the end, are pages with templates for each of the designs.Now my only problem is, which one do I make first?

What a beautiful book!!! A collectible item for sure. I have witnessed Rachel Norris' expertise on JewelryMaker.com via YouTube, and was delighted when I learned she had created this anthology of marvelous designs in book form. She possesses a truly innovative spirit that comes across in all of the projects, not to mention her thoughtful attention to detail through the wonderful photographs and instructions. I am sure that I will learn many more ways to enhance the wire wrapping skills I currently have. I can already see how I will be able to adapt the designs, and put my own signature style on them.I am truly impressed by her talent, and hope that she develops more volumes to complement this one!

I just received the book, and haven’t made any of the designs, yet.This woman is a genius!I have never seen so much detail, in a wire working book. The publisher is in England, maybe that explains it.In England jewelry is jewellery.Her designs are not for beginners. I plan to make “parts” of some of the designs.Jewelry making, is not her full-time profession.She appears on JewelleryMaker TV, in England. You can see that channel on you tube. It’s worth the trouble! Their DVDs cost a fraction of the over-priced DVDs we get in this country.If you don’t make any of the jewelry, it’s fun to just look at, what a genius has designed!

This is by far the most detailed book on wire work jewelry that I have ever seen! There are photographs for every single step for all the projects that are in it! I am super impressed with this author and will be looking for other books she has/or will put out! Definitely a book worth having in the collection of any person who does wire jewelry!

The designs are unique and there's good techniques in the book, but these are works of art, very time consuming to create. The piece I made was very heavy and not suitable for jewelry. It took so long to make that I really didn't want to start another.

Oh my goodness I can't wait to start using this book. However, unfortunately, I have several projects that have to be done first before I start, but the directions, pictures and everything are fantastic. This is a great book.

I am in the process of learning piano, and so I ordered this book (and another in the series) to try to expand my sheet music library. I played the melody easily for "Ode to Joy" (included in this book). Two things I really like about it: the print is fairly large and easy to read, and if you can't read notes really well for a beginner, or you are just learning to sight read, it includes fingering numbers.BUT, while the book is written for beginners, it is written based on the assumption that you have already learned what terms such as "Allegretto", "Moderato", and "Andante" are. I have not gotten that far in my learning process yet, and the "teach yourself to play piano" book does not include these in the course. I will have to do further study and advance more before I find out.Now while this book promises that it comes with MP3 downloads, I did not find any reference to these in the book about where to go to download said bonus MP3 files. It would be nice if I could find them, so that I can hear what these are supposed to sound like and at least play by ear. It is likely they are on the book publisher's website somewhere, and I will definitely edit this review when I find out for sure where they are.One more thing and this is just me: I usually take a pencil and mark my sheet music with notes, rather than the fingering numbers because I get confused when it comes to playing a left hand by fingering number, as I tend to play the pinky on left hand as a 1 rather than the thumb, and every piece of music I will encounter in the future will not always include fingering numbers: it will expect me to know how to read notes but this is just something I personally do to help myself play. For example on Ode to Joy the first note in the melody shows an F. BUT the fingering number shows a 3 which I have been taught is the E, and the middle finger when you start with middle C. This may look like a typo at first but it is not. It says at the front of the book that fingerings are provided as a suggestion and are not to be taken too literally, since each person plays differently, and tht teachers and students alike can be the best judges about how to best go about playing. So this is just something to keep in mind; I tried it both ways though, so it works both ways. If you go by notes it is just a bit more advanced. It's designed so you can improvise and make it your own as you progress in skill. Some people like fingering numbers, some like notes, but it's good for those who still can't read sheet music all that well. You're playing it either way and only the player or an extremely skilled listener is going to know the difference.This sort of goes against how I was taught since I was taught to always put the right finger on the right note to lessen confusion, then comes sheet music that tells you not to sweat it, but I guess if you are able to play it and make it sound right, this is ultimately all that matters since the book is designed to help a beginner appreciate the music of various classical composers and is for all ages. This one just happens to be Beethoven. There are dozens of different books in this series for all different composers and skill levels and the books are inexpensive. All in all, these are pretty neat and simple to follow books, intended to help the beginning pianist to develop skills.

I am so happy with this book! As a new, adult piano student it is just what I wanted. Since "easy piano" is not always suited for a beginner, this book is a welcome resource. The downloadable MP3 versions of the music make a great reference for how you are supposed to sound. I read treble clef quite easily from previous woodwind experience, but the bass clef is a real challenge. These pieces have a nice variety of both. Great beginner book.

This is a great book for introduction to classical music for intermediate players. I have 3 students in my home ranging from late beginner to early advanced and they all enjoy it.

Very happy with this music book. My 9 year old can play "Fur Elise"! Granted, not the whole thing... This series (I got Mozart and Chopen as well) give beginners a chance to play famous works and introduce kids to a wonderful world of classical music, making it acceptable at the beginners level. Highly recommend it.

Perfect for beginners! I'm reteaching my self to play piano and this has been very helpful. Other "beginner level" books are NOT for beginners. This one definitely is.

For true beginners, not for adults who are in need of a beginner to intermediate challenge. But, that being said, it is full of the more well known pieces that all beginners will love.

I'm very thankful for this great collection and most especially for the fact that I can hear how each song should sound via the download that is available for free. I was very impressed with the help I received from the publisher in downloading this as I wasn't sure how to do it myself. Great product and great customer service!

I bought this book for my granddaughter to learn one of the pieces. She has enjoyed playing the piece and will continue to play the many arrangements in the book. It is an easy to use book of music.
